Childcare and Play Grant 2024 - 2025
Childcare and Play Grant funding is to support:
- Parents who are re-entering the workplace or looking to access a training course.
- Parents wishing to access provision through the medium of Welsh.
- The well-being of children during family crisis or under special circumstances.
Limited funds are available therefore we may not be able to fund all requests.
Please prepare the following evidence before you apply for the grant.
1. Applicants looking to return to work
- Copies of your work meetings with your work coach to show you are actively seeing employment / confirmation of new employment start date.
- Please provide proof of income and benefits - all pages of your most recent Tax Credit Award Statement or three most recent months of Universal Credit from Inland Revenue (showing all pages)
2. Applicants wishing to attend training
- A letter from Training/College Provider showing commencement date of training course and length of course.
3. In need of respite
- For the wellbeing of the child during family crisis or under special circumstances - please attach a supporting statement from a healthcare, social services, or education professional.
All applications will need to be accompanied by the child’s birth certificate and parent/carers most recent council tax to confirm you are a Flintshire resident.
Applications must be submitted by the parent/carer.
If you have more than one child, please fill out a separate application for each child.
Applications will be considered and responded to within 10 working days. If applications are successful the funding will begin from date of approval, and payments will be made directly to the childcare provider on a monthly basis.
