What the Service does:
- Calculate various financial support including housing benefit, council tax support, free school meals and uniform grants
- We assess eligibility for benefits or grants

- We support and help customers to ensure they are receiving all they are entitled to.

What you will get involved with:
- Deal directly with customers providing guidance and answering their queries, on the telephone and by email or letter.

Capital Works Team
What the Service does:
- Ensure all the Council’s homes are up to the Welsh Government standards.
- Support the whole team by keeping records updated and then – making plans for future works.
- Act as the first point of call to our tenants and other people calling in with queries.
- Support our Inspectors as they go out to tenanted and empty properties.
- Assist in the maintenance of our Building Safety section’s databases.

Clwyd Pension Fund (Pensions section)
What the Service does:
- We look after the Local Government Pension Scheme’ (LGPS).
- The scheme is used by approximately 50 employers in Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham
- We have a team of 50 who are responsible for all the administration, this includes:
- Creating and maintaining pension records on our database
- Calculating payments
- Following LGPS regulations
- Providing excellent customer service when dealing with queries
What you will get involved with:
- Sorting and scanning incoming post e.g. documents such as birth / marriage certificates, passports and driving licenses
- Printing and posting letters to scheme members
- Updating the pensions database e.g. change of address etc.
- Processing records where the pension scheme member is due a refund
- Undertaking general clerical duties
Domestic Energy Team
What the Service does:
- Use funding for helping vulnerable people access energy saving measures such as central heating
- Look after council housing heating systems, solar panels and insulation
- Give advice about energy and how to save money on your bills

Flying Start
What the Service does:
- The Business Support team, work across 5 of our Family Centres providing administrative support to the whole team.
- Flying Start is made up of a team of Family Support Workers, Advisory Teachers, Health Visitors, Midwives, Speech and Language Therapists and Business Support.
- Flying Start supports families with children 0-7years in parenting, childcare, speech & language and health.
- Support and interact with parents and children who visit the Family Centres
What you will get involved with:
- Logging incoming mail and distributing to team members.
- Assist rest of team in taking calls from families/professionals and taking messages when necessary.

Housing Assets
What the Service does:
- This is a small generic team their role as a whole is to provide administrative and clerical support to the gas service, electrical service and capital works teams as well as providing general administrative support to housing asset management team and all other sections of Housing Services based in County Offices, Flint
- Providing support to our 109 Trades who do not have access to a computer and ensure communications are sent out to all the Trades when necessary. Also first point of call when Trades come into the offices with queries.
- Speak to Tenants on a daily basis in relation to booking appointments for Gas and Electrical Servicing for our Council properties.
What you will get involved with:
- Assist rest of team in taking calls from Tenants and making appointments for Gas and Electrical Servicing in our Council properties.
- Using spreadsheets to log and monitor Trade’s annual leave and sickness absence and filing away correspondence on personnel files.
- Scan and file away Gas and Electrical Certificates so we have a record of all services completed, also assist with archiving of files.
- Logging incoming mail and distributing to all Sections within Housing Services. Also responsible for collection of outgoing mail and ensuring it is in the Post Room ready to be sent out.
- Assist with logging sickness absence for the Housing Services section both on database and excel spreadsheets.
- Give out Petty Cash to Trades as and when needed and log on spreadsheets, ensuring signatures are obtained for money being given out.
- Assist the team by liaising with Fleet Services to book our Trade’s vehicles for Servicing/Inspections/MOTs.
Payroll - Employment Services
What the Service does:
- The Payroll Team are a small team of specialists
- We process payroll for 7,000 employees each month, ensuring they are paid accurately and on time.
- We process claims for hours, mileage and expenses
- We are responsible for making sure Tax, National Insurance and Pension is correctly deducted
- We provide good customer service to our colleagues, daily, advising and answering pay queries.
What you will get involved with:
- You will receive on the job training relating to all our IT systems, policies and legislation.
- You’ll monitor the payroll email Inbox, answering straightforward queries
- You will process timesheets.
- You will ensure reports are accurate and have undergone the many checks needed.
- You will also:
- file information on personal records
- process invoices
- help make payments to third parties (For example, the Tax Office)
Revenues
What the Service does:
- Responsible for the administration and collection of Council Tax, Business Rates, Sundry Debts, Housing and Garage rents
- Speak to taxpayers, rate payers and tenants on a daily basis over the phone to provide help and support to pay their council tax, business rates, council rent and garage rents on time.
- Advise on relevant discounts/exemptions/reductions that taxpayers, ratepayers, and tenants may be able to claim to reduce their Council Tax, Business Rates or rent charges and how to claim them.
What you will get involved with:
- Update customer records using computerised systems
- Support the service by undertaking a varied and interesting range of office activities including referencing and indexing of incoming mail using our Document Management and Workflow system

Streetscene
What the Service does:
- Streetscene & Transportation are a fast paced and ambitious service which provide an extensive range of frontline services to the residents of Flintshire.
- The Regulatory Services Team includes Car parking and Environmental Enforcement, Waste permitting and disposal compliance, Environmental and recycling engagement, Landfill Management, Business Support, Support Services and Compliance & Training providing support to the wider Streetscene service departmental operations.
What you will get involved with:
- You’ll provide administrative and business support to the regulatory service team by updating spreadsheets and records

What the Service does:
- Act as the landlord for 173+ NEW Homes properties
- Deliver a housing service to include allocating and letting of properties, tenancy management, tenancy enforcement (dealing with anti-social behaviour), tenancy sustainment and customer involvement

What the Service does:
- We undertake Repairs, Maintenance and investment works to Flintshire County Council’s social housing stock (over 7300 homes) and associated assets such as community centers and garages

What the Service does:
- Provide inclusive Open Access Youth Work support for young people in school and community settings across Flintshire

What the Service does:
- The team’s work is spread across both the Capital Maintenance Team (for Flintshires 7,000 council homes) and the New Build Development Team ( delivering 400 plus new homes over the next 5 years with particular reference to new/retro fit low carbon homes)

What the Service does:
- Lead on all council enquiries and work areas in relation to the natural environment
- Provide advice and guidance in relation to trees and ecology with regard to planning applications
