National Collaborative Arrangements for Welsh Adoption and Fostering services

Published: 09/03/2022

When they meet on Tuesday 15 March, Cabinet members will be asked to support a new national all Wales approach aimed at attracting more foster carers to support young people.  The work extends an established national approach to adoption.

Flintshire’s Cabinet Member for Social Services, Councillor Christine Jones, said:

“Effective foster care support changes lives for the better and this national approach will complement the excellent work of our Flintshire fostering team, working in partnership with foster carers to support vulnerable children and young people as well as the work of our regional adoption service.”

All 22 local authorities have agreed to work effectively together on national issues such as marketing, advertising and some coordination of support functions.

This will allow the excellent local work of Flintshire’s Children’s Services to continue in the County with an increased awareness of the importance of fostering and adoption across Wales.
