At 9am on 9 September, the Chair of Council, Councillor Joe Johnson and Vice-chair, Councillor Mared Eastwood, raised the Emergency Services Flag at County Hall, Mold. They were accompanied by Neal Cockerton, Chief Executive designate, and Gareth Owens, Chief Officer (Governance), who is also the Deputy Clerk to the North Wales Fire & Rescue Authority.
The Chair of Council said:
“We raise the Emergency Services Flag at 9am on the 9th day of the 9th month - hence this being 999 day. It is raised in recognition of the County Council’s support for and thanks to all of the emergency services. We also recognise the contribution which is made by the Council’s own workforce in emergency situations. We are all hugely grateful to all who deal with emergencies of whatever kind.”
