Please look after our wildlife
Published: 11/05/2016
Flintshire County Council’s Countryside Service would like to remind the public
not to approach or pick up wildlife without consulting the appropriate
organisations first.
This baby badger was rescued after it showed no fear of dogs or humans, which
is very unusual behaviour. It was rescued by Countryside Rangers Rachel Watson
and Stephen Lewis and taken to the RSPCA after careful monitoring over 3 days
around Wepre Park. While they may appear to be “cute”, they are wild animals
and all wild animals should be left alone.
With the nesting season upon us, Rangers are also advising people not to pick
up chicks unless absolutely necessary as their parents will not be far away.
