Flintshire Have a go fortnight
Published: 11/02/2016
Flintshire County Council’s Leisure Services is launching their “Have a go
fortnight” with a Family Fun and Information Day on Monday, 15 February at
Connah’s Quay Civic Hall on Wepre Drive.
This is a free event and there will be information stalls, fun sessions and
refreshments, so come along and find out what Flintshire can offer to help you
improve your health and well-being.
Doors open at 10am and the event will run until 4pm.
You’ll also have the chance to let us know what you think by participating in
our Active Travel consultation aimed at identifying healthier and alternative
ways to travel around the county.
Cllr, Kevin Jones, Cabinet Member for Waste Strategy, Public Protection and
Leisure, said, “This event kicks off a two-week period where our Countys
residents can try out various activities, many of them for free. Activities
include yoga, blood pressure checks, tai chi classes, a 1940s tea dance and so
much more. Sessions are open and welcoming to everyone and are really great
for beginners.”
The Family Fun and Information Day will include a cheerleading display by
Buckley Cheerleaders and the information stands include: Public Health Wales &
Stop Smoking Wales, RND Memory Matters, Flintshire Family Information Service,
Flintshire Leisure Services, Active Travel countywide consultation and
Flintshire County Council Libraries and Arts as well as many others.
For more information on all the events, visit the Leisure Services page on
