Published: 24/09/2015
Flintshire Business Week 2015 is nearly here!
The prestigious event, now in its ninth year, takes place between 13 and 16
October. Headline sponsors this year are:
AGS Security Systems (sponsoring Flintshire Business Awards)
Westbridge Furniture Designs (sponsoring Business Exhibition)
FBW has become the most important event of its kind in the region, attracting
around 2,000 delegates from businesses every year. It supports the business
community in the county and, increasingly, the wider region, to promote their
companies, develop trading opportunities and to raise the profile of the area
as a vibrant business community and a brilliant place to invest.
The programme has been developed with the needs of local businesses in mind and
this year the focus will be on engaging businesses with politics, the economy
and future prospects for growth.
Highlights this year include:
The Business Exhibition on 13 October at Coleg Cambria, Deeside provides a
platform to showcase local businesses and B2B opportunities, plus seminars on
jobs growth in Wales, social media, superfast broadband and apprenticeships and
training.
The National & Regional Economy on 15 October at St David’s Hotel, Ewloe where
speakers will highlight subjects including business success, the state of the
nation and regional skills development. Among the speakers will be Colin
Everett, Chief Executive at Flintshire County Council, talking about the local
economy.
On 16 October businesses will have the opportunity to participate in an AM and
MP Question Time session at Coleg Cambria, Deeside. This is a great opportunity
for businesses to engage with politicians representing all elected parties and
ask questions.
The theme of regional prospects for growth on 14 October at Springfield Hotel,
Holywell, includes seminars on the National and Local Transport Plan, the North
Wales Prison Project and public sector construction projects. Businesses will
be informed about the projects and how they can engage in the process.
Cllr Derek Butler, Cabinet Member for Economic Development said, Flintshire
Business Week helps our local businesses and puts our area on the map. It’s a
unique and very successful partnership between the public and private sectors.
I’d encourage as many businesses as possible to get involved and make the most
of the fantastic opportunities available throughout the week. It’s a great
platform for networking and to profile Flintshire’s businesses to the widest
possible audience.”
