Restrictions Business Fund – Phase 2

Published: 18/12/2020

Welsh Government recently announced a further financial support package from 4 December to support businesses with their immediate cash flow and to help them survive the economic consequences of additional restrictions necessary to control the spread of Covid-19.

Flintshire County Council has been working with Welsh Government to award automatic grant payments to hospitality businesses with a rateable value up to £51,000 and who previously received the recent firebreak lockdown grant in October/November.

In the last few days 168 grant awards have been paid, with awards totaling £586,000

The next phase of the latest grant scheme opened for on-line applications from 16 December – this is for hospitality businesses occupying a premises with a rateable value between £51,001 and £150,000. This means that larger hospitality businesses will receive emergency grant support for the first time under the NDR linked schemes.

Councillor Ian Roberts, Leader of the Council said:

“We understand this has been a difficult time for many businesses, especially those in the hospitality sector who are affected by the latest restrictions.

“We have been working to get the automatic payment paid into bank accounts as quickly as possible before the Christmas break.

“I am also pleased to announce that in additional to the automatic awards, the next phase of the scheme is now open for new hospitality applicants.”

A further application based grant scheme will ‘open-up’ in early January for other hospitality, tourism and leisure businesses and their supply chains and retail businesses that can evidence greater than 40% reduction in turnover as a direct result of new restrictions. Businesses should continue to check the website for further details.
