NEW Homes takes delivery of apartments from Anwyl
Published: 14/12/2020
NEW (North East Wales) Homes Ltd, is a local affordable housing company that is wholly owned by Flintshire County Council. NEW Homes owns and manages a range of new build properties within Flintshire and has recently taken ownership of 12 high quality new build apartments from Anwyl Homes at its Croes Atti development in Oakenholt.
The two bedroom apartments have been gifted to NEW Homes to be provided as affordable housing, as required by planning approval. They will be let as intermediate rental units and will help meet the need for additional affordable homes in the local area.
Despite the recent challenges presented by the ongoing Covid crisis, NEW Homes and Anwyl have worked together to ensure the apartments were delivered on time and are delighted to report that the first tenants are now moving into their new homes.
Paul Humphries, Chair of NEW Homes, said:
“We are delighted to take delivery of these new properties at Croes Atti. Anwyl has delivered a number of superb high quality apartments for NEW Homes on this development which enables us to provide more much needed affordable housing in the area. The properties have been delivered on time and to a high standard, despite the many challenges faced by the construction industry at this time.”
Area construction manager at Anwyl, John Wilson, added:
“We are also very pleased with the end result. The apartments have been completed to an excellent standard and sit well on a prominent position along the coast road. It has been a pleasure working with NEW Homes to bring much needed quality new homes to the local area in what has been quite a challenging period for all.”
The handing over of the apartments coincides with a significant milestone for NEW Homes, the successful sign up of its 150th tenancy - a Welsh couple, Jamie Smith and Ellis Evans who are moving into one of the properties at Croes Atti.
Jamie said:
“We very much wanted to stay in the local area and NEW Homes has helped us do this; the apartments at Croes Atti are beautiful and we are really looking forward to moving in.”
