Welsh Government Home Improvement Loan Scheme
Published: 25/06/2015
Short and medium term interest free loans may be available to home owners,
landlords, developers and charities, to make their home safe, warm and secure.
Flintshire County Council is encouraging property owners to find out whether
they are eligible for the Welsh Government Home Improvement Loan Scheme.
The fund has been made available to councils in Wales, to enable the Council to
provide short to medium term loans to owners of sub-standard properties who
pass affordability criteria and who are restricted by other sources of finance.
Councillor Helen Brown, Cabinet Member for Housing, said:
“A loan of between £1,000 and £25,000 is available to those who meet the
criteria. But it should be noted that this loan is discretionary, there is no
automatic entitlement, and an offer cannot be guaranteed until an applicant has
received formal notice of approval. Details of the loan, how to apply, and
information about the criteria can be obtained either by visiting the housing
grants section of the Flintshire website at
www.flintshire.gov.uk/en/Resident/Housing/Home-Improvement-Loan-Scheme.aspx or
by contacting 01352 703434.”
