Event held showcasing job opportunities

Flintshire County Council’s Communties for Work team held an event recently aimed at giving individuals an insight into the opportunities available within leisure, tourism, sport and hospitality industry which employs 3.2 million people in the UK.
There were a number of employers on hand including:
- Kingswood outdoor education centre
- Randstad
- Theatr Clwyd
- Flintshire County Council Play Team and
- AURA Leisure and Libraries.
They were there, along with advisors from Communities for Work, Careers Wales and Jobcentre Plus, to give information on employment and volunteering opportunities available in the sector in the local area as well as across the UK and beyond and to advise where to look for specific job roles.
A number of fun activities were available including ice skating, spinning and self defence which was a great opportunity for people to try something new.
Communities for Work were taking referrals at the event for anyone wanting to sign up to the Welsh Government’s employability programme offering 1:1 mentoring support to anyone 16+ from across Flintshire wanting advice and guidance on getting into work.
