Flintshire’s Cabinet will be asked to recognise the progress of Double Click and to continue to support and promote this social enterprise when it next meets on 23 October.
Double Click has progressed as a fully independent social enterprise over the last two years, offering increased employment and training opportunities for all staff including people with mental health issues. They have been successful in securing lottery funding which has enabled them to purchase state of the art equipment that supports the development of the business.
Double Click is now working with partners to further enhance the experiences of trainees and volunteers. They now have close business ties with training organisations and local companies. They have a full order book which includes BCUHB, NEWydd, NEWCIS and Flying Start.
They are now able to be more flexible and creative in their training programmes and they have three levels of training on offer.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Services, Councillor Christine Jones, said:
“Double Click has been a real success story and it goes from strength to strength. Their Board of Directors has people with a range of skills and knowledge who can advise them. I am impressed with how good the staff are and how everyone is always made so welcome when they visit
“The social enterprise recently hosted the Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Transport, Ken Skates. The Cabinet Secretary recognised the great progress made by Double Click as a social enterprise and saw first-hand their excellent work to provide training and employment in a nurturing and supportive environment.”
