Connah’s Quay High School welcomed local councillors, including Connah’s Quay Town Council Chair Councillor Pam Attridge, partner organisations, County officers, staff and students to a time capsule ceremony at the site of their new building recently.

Construction of the new building is well underway and this was an opportunity to gather on site to celebrate the school of today by ensuring that a selection of pertinent objects, including postcards, journals showing a “day in the school life”, photo stories of Connah’s Quay life, newsletters and sports day programmes, will be available for the students of tomorrow when they open the time capsule in 2050. The new building will be completed by December 2018.

Councillor Andy Dunbobbin, local County councillor for Connah’s Quay Golftyn and Chair of Governors, said:2018-EY-0026-JS.jpg

“It was great to get the chance to speak to pupils and see all the impressive changes that are taking place. I was particularly pleased to have the chance to be involved in the children’s preparation for the burial of the time capsule that they had filled with things important to them. “Hopefully this will give children at the school in years to come the chance to see what the current set of students felt were important to them and see how things have changed.”
