The Flintshire County Council Strategic Housing and Regeneration Programme
(SHARP) is making a positive impact on small local businesses within the
county.
The programme is building new council and affordable homes across Flintshire.
The contractor appointed by the council, Wates Residential North, is holding an
event that will provide an opportunity for local small businesses to find out
more about these exciting new housing developments with a view to being
employed on a sub-contractor basis. All local small businesses that are
construction related and based in Flintshire are welcome to visit the Wates
office, old Mold Library on Raikes Lane in Mold on 19 July between 8am and 10am
to find out more. The invitation is extended to all areas of construction
including groundworks, bricklayers, roofers, M&E (PLU AND ELEC), plasterers,
joiners, painters, landscapers and fencers. The council’s business development
team will be attending the event, which will be run in partnership with
Flintshire in Business.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Bernie
Attridge, said:
“The successful partnership between the Council and Wates has already seen many
local businesses benefit from working with us. The next phase of SHARP opens
the door to other local businesses, no matter what size, to take advantage of
this opportunity.
“We are keen to continue to generate employment opportunities through the use
of local businesses. I would encourage small businesses in the construction
industry to attend this event to find out more and see how they can get
involved.”
