Roadworks – Broughton cycleway

Flintshire County Council has secured Welsh Government Active Travel Grant funding for the implementation of much needed Active and Sustainable travel improvements within the locality of Saltney and Broughton. 

The proposals aim to improve the viability of Active and Sustainable travel journeys along the A5104. The scheme will provide a shared use off road footway / cycleway. The facility will link into the recently completed Broughton to Saltney Ferry Shared use path and continue onto Sandy Lane and into the existing cycle way provision. The works will also include the upgrade of the existing pedestrian crossing to a Toucan Crossing and necessary carriageway improvements.

Works on the A5104 will commence on Monday, 30 January 2023 for a period of approximately 10 weeks. Traffic management will be in operation throughout this period and access for the travelling public, local businesses and residents will be maintained at all times.
