Flintshire’s in Business

Published: 25/05/2018

Flintshire County Council’s flagship business programme, Flintshire in Business, was launched at an event at Soughton Hall recently. A host of local business people were present at the event to hear what Flintshire in Business has on offer throughout 2018. Included in the line-up are events covering social media and online presence, finance, business growth and opportunities for promoting local opportunities to school and college students. The ever popular Flintshire Business Awards will take place at Soughton Hall on 19 October. Flintshire County Council’s Leader, Councillor Aaron Shotton, said: “Once again, Flintshire in Business is offering a range of events, organised with our partners, covering a range of interesting topics and supporting the economic development of our region.” President of Flintshire in Business, Lord Barry Jones, said: “This is a magnificent initiative which will only further promote the brilliant economy of North East Wales. The marvellous thing is that there is a cross border connection of great importance and the County, with membership of the Mersey Dee Alliance and involvement in the region’s Growth Deal, is showing considerable wisdom. We are the most effective manufacturing location in Britain and the only cross border economy in Britain – our manufacturing capability is truly spectacular.” Jonathan Turner, Managing Director of AGS Security Systems, said: “The Flintshire Business Awards are the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of the business calendar. The celebration enables businesses or social enterprises of all sizes the opportunity to showcase their company, gaining recognition, status and a raised profile, I would encourage any Flintshire business to enter these prestigious awards.” Flintshire Business Awards have a total of nine awards which you can enter and one special award – the Lord Barry Legacy Award, awarded in recognition of outstanding life-long services to business and the economy.
