Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty guidance update
Published: 17/05/2018
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet will be asked to approve the formal
adoption of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Supplementary
Planning Guidance (SPG) when it meets on Tuesday, 22 May.
This is so that it can be given weight as a material planning consideration
when considering relevant planning enquiries, applications and appeals.
The SPG has been prepared jointly by Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham
Councils and has been the subject of an extensive public consultation exercise.
It is being recommended for adoption by each of the three Local Planning
Authorities.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning and Public Protection,
Councillor Chris Birthell said:
“The guidance has been drafted in an easy-to-read style, supported by suitable
photographs and illustrations, yet still providing robust guidance. The aim is
to maintain and improve the quality of development in and around the AONB and
to ensure that the AONB is a design consideration from the earliest stages of
designing a development.”
