National Cycle Network 568 runs between Chester, along the banks of the River
Dee into Deeside Industrial Park and beyond into Burton and Neston on the
Wirral.
The majority of the route is traffic free through Flintshire, with the
exception of a section within Deeside Industrial Park where work is now under
way to provide an off road shared use cycle way along Tenth Avenue in Zone 3 of
the Park.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Countryside,
Councillor Carolyn Thomas recently visited the site to see the work and talk to
some local cyclists. She said:
“The cyclists are really pleased with the work that is being done. This
cycleway will not only provide the missing link for leisure but also provide
every business on Zone 3 direct cycle access in to their grounds offering a
healthy, active and affordable way to arrive at their employment.”
The Active Travel Policy for Deeside Industrial Park is well under way the
development of more cycle paths. Pictured: Flintshire County Councils Highways
