New Chair and Vice Chair for Flintshire County Council

On Tuesday, 1 May, Flintshire County Council elected Councillor Paul Cunningham
as Chairman.
Councillor Cunningham has been a member of Flintshire County Council since
April 2014.
Councillor Cunningham lives in Flint and is married to Joan and has four
children and six granddaughters. Mrs. Cunningham will be Councillor
Cunningham’s Consort.
Councillor Cunningham said:
“I’m delighted to be elected as Chairman of Flintshire County Council for the
coming year. It is a great honour to represent such an incredible County as
ours. I will carry out my duties to the best of my ability and represent
Flintshire with pride.”
The Vice-Chairman for the coming 12 months will be Councillor Marion Bateman
who represents Northop and has been a member of the Council since November
2009. She has been a Sychdyn Member of Northop Community Councillor for many
years and has been Chair of the Council in the past. She is a governor at
Ysgol Sychdyn and a member of the North Wales Fire & Rescue Authority.
Councillor Bateman is married to Haydn and has one son and twin grandsons.
Councillor Haydn Batman will be her Consort.
