Funding success

Following a successful bid to Welsh Government in March last year under the
Safer Routes in Communities funding initiative, Flintshire County Council is
pleased to announce that works are currently underway to provide much needed
and requested safety improvements within the vicinity of Bryn Coch School.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Countryside,
Councillor Carolyn Thomas, said:
I am pleased that we have been able to include these much requested
improvements as part of the Welsh Government funded scheme which will improve
access for families walking in groups, with prams, bikes and scooters.
Encouraging healthy and active travel within the community as an alternative to
car transport will greatly alleviate congestion around the school as well as
improving safety for our most vulnerable road users.
