Published: 28/02/2018
Flintshire County Council is pleased to announce the start to the strategic
transport vision with the construction of cycleway and bus stop infrastructure
on Zone 3 of the Deeside Enterprise Zone thanks to grant funding from Welsh
Government.
The work will include a cycle route to every business on the zone, new bus stop
infrastructure including new shelters, regulated on street parking and a one
way system.
The work is due to start on Monday 5 March and it will last for 12 weeks.
Access to individual properties and businesses will be maintained although
short delays may be encountered.
Flintshire County Council and the contractor, Roadway Civil Engineering Ltd,
apologise for any delay and disruption that may be caused as a consequence of
this work and will undertake the works as quickly as possible.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Transportation,
Councillor Carolyn Thomas, said:
“I am delighted that we are moving forward with the transport vision for
Flintshire and North Wales to connect people to this important area of
employment. This is one of many exciting schemes in the pipeline which will
integrate all modes of transport to promote a sustainable, affordable and
environmentally friendly public transport service. This key stage in the plan
demonstrates the commitment to the transport network from the current
administration working with Welsh Government. Moving forward we will be
looking for opportunities from all areas to link in through sustainable
transport solutions.”
