Carriageway Resurfacing of A541 Chester Road
Published: 31/07/2017
Flintshire County Council is pleased to announce that funding has been secured
to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works at A541 Chester Road,
Mold, between Tesco roundabout and the Wylfa roundabout starting on Monday 7
August for approximately three weeks.
To facilitate the works a temporary one way restriction will be in place from
the evening of Monday 7 August, prohibiting vehicles from travelling into Mold
from the Wylfa roundabout. Vehicles will be diverted via the A494 and A5119,
New Brighton.
The one way restriction will be in place for the duration of the works to
ensure the safety of the workforce engaged in this operation and all highway
users.
Access to individual properties and businesses will be maintained, although
short delays may be encountered.
The Council and the contractor, Roadway Civil Engineering Ltd, apologise for
any delay and disruption that may be caused as a consequence of this essential
maintenance work and will carry out the works as quickly as possible.
Flintshire County Councils Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Countryside,
Councillor Carolyn Thomas, said:
“I am pleased that we have been able to fund this key scheme to maintain one of
the main routes into Mold within our tight budget restrictions, which again
demonstrates the commitment to the highway network from the current
administration. I’m aware it’s going to be a difficult three weeks for
commuters and businesses, but to help minimise disruption, the works have been
set so they fall between the town’s two major events - The North Wales Blues
and Soul Festival and The Food Festival.
