Occupancy Review FAQ


Flintshire County Council are currently conducting a review of the occupancy of properties in our area to ensure that everybody is paying the correct amount of tax. We appreciate in taking part in this review you may have questions.  

To help, we have included the most frequently asked questions that can arise throughout this review period below. 

Why have I received this letter?
The council are currently reviewing the occupancy of properties in our area to ensure that everybody is paying the correct amount of tax.

How do I complete the form?
The easiest way to reply to the review is by using the online services. Please refer to your letter for instructions on how to do this using your 8-digit unique code.
 
What happens if I don’t complete the form? 
If you do not respond or complete the form, we will assume the property is no longer occupied.

What happens if the form is completed after the 21-day deadline given? 
If the form is not returned or completed within 21 days, we will assume the property is no longer occupied, which could affect your council tax.
If you are looking to complete the paper form and need help. Please see the following: 
You will need to declare how the property is being used. To do this, complete Section A and tick the relevant option. If property is occupied, please proceed to Section B and list the names of all persons who use this address as their main residence.

If the property is not your main residence please complete Section C and tick the relevant option.

Sign, Print and Date the form and return it to the address provided at the bottom of your letter. Please Note- Any letters sent with insufficient/invalid postage will NOT be received and your discount may be removed as a result.

Why am I being asked to return my information to a Nottingham address? 
The secure local government scanning facility used to process your response is based in Nottingham.

I have already informed the Council of a change in circumstances. Do I need to complete the form? 
Yes. Please include all the details of your current situation. 

What should I do if my circumstances are not covered in the examples above?
If you are still unsure how to complete the form, please return the paper form to the address at the top of your letter, with a covering letter with an explanation of your current situation.

• To log in, you can find the required details in the letter sent to you. 
• To complete the login process, please ensure you input the entire account number, 6-digit PIN, and postcode of the property in question.
