Christine Jones, said:
“This is the first time we have held these awards in Buckley and they have
proved very successful as they help raise the profile of this illness and show
what organisations can do to make life easier for people with dementia and
their families. It continues the great work being done throughout the county,
for example the opening of memory cafes.”
Ged Fitzpatrick, Chair of the Buckley group, said:
“Our group has worked really hard to raise awareness of dementia and we are
committed to working with local organisations and schools to make sure Buckley
is a place where people with dementia are understood, respected, supported and
contribute to the local community.
“We have been very well supported by the team at Flintshire County Council’s
Social Services Department and Buckley Town Council.”
