AdobeStock Election tick.jpegDon’t lose your right to vote and have your say in the County Council and Town and Community Council elections taking place on Thursday, 5 May.

In order to vote in the upcoming elections, you need to be on the electoral register and be 16 years old or over.

Everyone is responsible for registering themselves and registering is quick and simple.  To register, go to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. We can also provide paper application forms on request.  Just visit: www.aboutmyvote.co.uk and print off a registration form.  You can also contact Electoral Services on 01352 702300.

You have until 5pm on Thursday 14 April to register to vote.    If you would prefer to vote by post and you don’t want to vote in person at a polling station, you have until Tuesday 19 April to apply for a postal vote.

And you have until Tuesday 26 April to apply for a proxy vote (if you’re unable to vote in person, you can ask someone to vote on your behalf, which is called a proxy vote).
