Local Planning Guidance Notes
Published: 12/01/2017
Approval is being sought from the Council’s Cabinet at its meeting on 17
January for 20 Local Planning Guidance Notes (LPGNs) in order for them to be
formally adopted as Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG).
The LPGNs have been developed following an extensive consultation exercise
covering developers, agents, consultants, internal council departments,
adjoining authorities, town and community councils, statutory consultees and
local interest groups between 18 December 2015 and 12 February 2016.
The LPGNs, some new and others revised, cover a range of planning
considerations from space around dwellings to Conservation Areas, nature
conservation to affordable housing and parking standards to energy conservation
and renewable energy and will be used in support of policies in the adopted
Flintshire Unitary Development Plan (UDP), for use in determining planning
applications.
Cllr. Bernie Attridge Cabinet Member for Environment said;
“The new LPGNs will help provide clear and informed guidance on all factors
influencing decisions on planning applications and longer term land use
strategies. They will also provide greater weight as material planning
considerations on land use planning decisions and help clarify certain policies
in the UDP, until such time as new SPG can be approved as part of the Local
Development Plan currently being progressed.”
