A local film company recently received a visit from The Rt Hon. the Lord Jones
at their offices in Bretton, Flintshire.
Lord Jones was there to personally thank the owners of Picture House films for
the work they had done in producing a film for the Legacy Award recently shown
at the 10th Flintshire Business Awards ceremony.
The Legacy Award was presented by Economy and Infrastructure Secretary Ken
Skates to the Rt Hon. Lord Barry Jones in recognition of his outstanding
life-long services to business and the economy when Mr Skates said:
“I can think of no one better, or more deserving, to receive the award which
recognises Lord Barry Jones’ tireless work in support of economic growth across
the region. He has been a real advocate of both the needs and opportunities of
this part of Wales, supporting business investment and jobs growth at every
chance and taking every opportunity to promote Flintshire and North East Wales
where ever he goes.”
During the visit, Lord Jones said:
“I am delighted to come here to Picture House Films as I wanted to thank them
all personally for the wonderful work that they have done in producing such a
memorable and thought-provoking film. It is truly inspiring to have such
talent in our local area and I wish the company continued success in the
future.”
The company has also worked on other films for the Flintshire Business
Exhibition and Flintshire County Council.
Kate Oldfield, pictured with Lord Jones and Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet
Member for Economic Development, Councillor Derek Butler, said:
“We were proud and honoured to welcome Lord Jones to our Picture House
offices. We work hard to make every film tell a compelling story - and with a
subject like Lord Jones, this certainly wasn’t hard.
“His personal tribute is the greatest commendation we could wish for; he’s an
inspirational man and we are very lucky to have him here in Flintshire.”
