WeCare Wales week 11th-17th October

Published: 07/10/2021

Next week’s jam packed program of awareness raising and praising for the care sector in Wales.

WeCare Wales week is a national effort providing an opportunity to shine a light on what working in social care is really like.  Giving recognition to those working in the sector, and demonstrating the variety of jobs and careers available.

During the week WeCare Wales will be running a four day “Introduction to Social Care” course. This will give those who participate the essentials to start working in social care, such as communication skills and safe working practices, and give them a smooth transition into hopefully paid employment in Flintshire.

On Wednesday 13th October there’ll be representatives from the care sector at Mold Market to greet passers-by, provide an overview of what it’s like to work in care, and give an oversight of current job opportunities in Flintshire. If you’re in Mold that day, please come over and say hello.

Flintshire’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Social Services, Councillor Christine Jones, said:

‘’WeCare Wales week is an excellent opportunity to raise awareness on the work the care sector undertakes and its value.  This is a great way to learn more about the vacancies available, the details of the roles and settings and a chance to meet the teams.’’

‘’I encourage anyone interested in working within this sector to take advantage of the training courses and webinars on offer next week and take a trip to Mold to meet some representatives from the care sector’’.
