Published: 29/07/2016
Denbighshire and Flintshire County Councils are gearing up for this year’s
annual Denbighshire and Flintshire Agricultural Show, taking place on Thursday,
18th August, with activities being held to celebrate the Year of Adventure.
BMX bike track, cycling challenges, Nordic walking and an obstacle course will
be some of the many activities on offer at the Councils’ marquee, which can be
found next to the main show ring.
Countryside Services will be arranging fun, family activities and there will be
an opportunity to have your photograph taken in a canoe against a colourful
backdrop. There will be an array of exhibitions and visitor information
available.
Triffordd Nurseries from Flintshire will also be at the showground with their
floral displays.
Leader of Denbighshire County Council, Councillor Hugh Evans OBE, said:
“We are delighted to be able to showcase some of our work to show visitors
again this year.
“2016 has been designated the Year of Adventure by Visit Wales and both
councils are taking the opportunity to highlight the many activities that
people can get involved with in our region and to encourage people to explore
both counties and have their own adventures.
“We would encourage people to call by and see what we’ve got on offer”.
Leader of Flintshire County Council, Councillor Aaron Shotton, said:
“This is a prime example of partnership working at its best, with this being
the seventh year for the Councils to have a joint presence on the showground.
“The Denbigh and Flint Show is historically one of the most important and
well-attended events in the agriculture calendar with crowds coming from across
North Wales and beyond. It’s a great platform for us to promote our councils
and we are delighted to be supporting show organisers again this
year.
