Why not take advantage of a new website for Wales?
A new web resource promoting wellbeing across Wales will launch later this
month.
Dewis Cymru (Welsh www.dewis.cymru English www.dewis.wales) will officially
launch at the National Social Services Conference at Venue Cymru on 30 June.
The website will provide people across North Wales with information about
wellbeing activities and support, based on their postcode location and needs.
Information is available on everything from leisure centre classes to mental
health support groups and much more, and if you don’t use the internet ask
about Dewis Cymru at your library, leisure centre or any County Voluntary
Council.
The website has been built in North Wales by over 800 organisations including
the NHS, volunteers, not for profit organisations, charities, libraries,
leisure centres, social services and care providers.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Services, Councillor
Christine Jones, said:
“We want to do everything we can to ensure people stay aware of all of the
services and support open to them.
“Even something as close to home and local as a luncheon club or coffee morning
can be of immeasurable help to people who might otherwise be lonely – ensuring
people are directed to such services is hugely important.
“And at the other end of the scale, we also want to work with larger partner
agencies in health, the third sector and other local authorities to make sure
we are doing all we can across North Wales.”
