Flintshire Flying Start awarded Quality Mark
Published: 18/05/2016
Flintshire Flying Start has been awarded the CANparent Quality Mark for
delivery of the Family Links Nurturing Programme to parents and carers.
The CANparent Quality Mark sets out what organisations need to have in place in
order to prove that they are delivering a quality approved service based on
sound evidence, with strong governance practices, financial and risk management
procedures. Coupled with robust systems for training, supervision and measuring
and evaluating outcomes.
No other Quality Mark brings together all the essential areas of having an
evidence based approach to delivery, effective governance and engagement with
parents. It has been developed for the sector, by the sector. Most importantly
it provides parents with the confidence that they will receive a credible,
quality service.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Services, Councillor
Christine Jones, said:
“The CANparent Quality Mark allows commissioners a guarantee that an
organisation is right and proper to deliver worthwhile and effective solutions
to parents. To achieve this, Flintshire Flying Start had to go through a robust
assessment which included providing evidence of achievement of all the
indicators across 4 quality elements. This means that Flying Start parenting
classes can be relied on to make a positive difference, are evidence based,
monitored and evaluated to improve parent and child relationships.”
