Published: 13/06/2014

Flintshire schools will certainly be dancing for joy this June with pupils from 50 schools springing onto stage during Flintshire Dancefest at Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Mold, from Monday 23 to Friday 27 June. In preparation for this enormous event, £23,000 worth of funding has been awarded to schools to work alongside professional dance practitioners from NEW Dance, the dance development company for North East Wales. The company has been working closely with pupils aged 3 – 18 years, to create their own special performance. From’street’ to the ‘jive’, Dancefest ‘Strictly’ promises to be a treat for all. Councillor Chris Bithell, Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, said: “I would encourage everyone to book their tickets for Flintshire Dancefest, which is always a wonderful occasion. Schools in Flintshire continue to excel in dance and we are pleased to showcase this growing talent.” Dancefest is organised by Flintshire County Council’s Arts, Culture and Events Section and part funded by the Arts Council of Wales and Physical Education & School Sport (PESS). Tickets are available from the Box Office at Clwyd Theatr Cymru by calling 0845 330 3565.
