More improvements to Wales Coast Path

Flintshire County Council Engineers, Rights of Way and Countryside officers have teamed up to create an alternative cycle path under the Hawarden Railway Bridge in Shotton. Following the bad storms over the past few years, an embankment was breached which meant that the existing cycle path flooded every high tide. Cllr Bernie Attridge, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet member for Environment, said: “We were able to secure Wales Coast Path funding of £20,000 and our contractors, G Lewis, have done a great job improving this footpath and cycletrack.
