Flintshire County Council has completed a £400k refurbishment and upgrade of
exercise equipment in gyms at Deeside, Flint, Holywell and Mold Leisure Centres.
The gyms now boast world class Technogym equipment which includes treadmills,
bikes, recline bikes, cross trainers, rowers and a wide range of resistance and
functional training equipment that is suitable to all users of all ability
levels. New cardiovascular equipment has an exciting array of digital
entertainment and is fitted with Android-based consoles that allow customers to
integrate indoor training performed using gym equipment with daily life
activities and outdoor training directly through the Technogym mywellness cloud
app. Customers can also experience total freedom of movement with our new ARKE
and OMNIA functional training equipment which can help users improve
co-ordination, stability, speed, agility and reaction time as well as
cardiovascular and respiratory fitness.
The gyms at Deeside, Flint, Holywell and Mold Leisure Centres are also signing
up to the global challenge, Let’s move for a better world campaign which aims
to address growing problems with obesity and sedentary lifestyles and to
encourage people to become more active.
The campaign runs from 1 - 19 March and the goal is to inspire leisure centre
members, their friends and family and fellow citizens to donate their physical
activity to fitness as part the challenge. The ranking of the facility is
determined by the total number of MOVES collected during the campaign. MOVES
are collected by participants training on our new Technogym cardiovascular
equipment that is connected to the mywellness cloud via an internet connection.
The three best ranked gym facilities in the UK will earn the opportunity to
donate Technogym fitness equipment to a local non-profit organisation in their
community.
In order to join the challenge all you have to do is call in to Deeside, Flint,
Holywell or Mold Leisure Centres to sign up and we are offering FREE 7 day
passes to non-members who sign up. There will also be prizes awarded along the
way.
