Published: 14/04/2021

Local residents are reminded that they have until midnight on Monday, 19 April to register to vote and until 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday, 20 April to apply for a postal vote in time for the coming Senedd and Police and Crime Commissioner elections. The polling day for the elections is Thursday, 6 May.

Residents have until 5.00 pm on Tuesday 27 April to apply for a proxy vote – for someone to vote on their behalf – as an alternative.

Emergency proxy votes may be available from after the proxy deadline until 5.00pm on 6 May, but only under specific extenuating circumstances. Further information is available on the Electoral Commission website (www.electoralcommission.org.uk).

Returning Officer Colin Everett said:

“Flintshire County Council has recently sent poll cards to electors. If you have not received a poll card please contact our Elections Office on 01352 702300 or email register@flintshire.gov.uk to check whether you are registered to vote. If you are not yet registered access the national online system at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

“The Elections Team are able to quickly assist residents with their enquiries. If  you have already responded to the Annual Electoral Register Canvass to confirm or update your details, and you have registered individually by providing your date of birth and National Insurance Number (if not already registered), then there is no need re-register.

“Please only contact the Elections Team if you still need to register.”
