Road works embargo over Christmas
Published: 01/12/2015
Flintshire County Council has placed an embargo on non-urgent road works on all
major routes through Flintshire and within town centres during the Christmas
period.
Deputy Leader and Cabinet member for Environment Councillor Bernie Attridge
said: Due to the significant increase in both vehicular and pedestrian traffic
in and around our town centres in the run-up to and throughout the Christmas
and New Year period we have introduced a road works embargo to minimise the
traffic congestion on the Councils highway network during the festive period.
The County Council is also working closely with the Utility companies to avoid
congestion and ensure the continued vitality of our towns.
The embargo will start on Friday 11 December and will remain in force until
Monday 4 January 2016.
