Invitations for Japanese Youth Exchange
Published: 21/10/2015
Students interested in joining a Japanese Youth Exchange are being invited to
an information event at Flintshire County Council.
The Council coordinates the Flintshire Japanese Youth Exchange and is now
seeking applicants for the 2016 programme.
There are six placements available each year with students’ families hosting
Japanese visitors for two weeks at the start of the summer holidays before the
return visit by Flintshire students to Japan.
The exchange is open to young people aged between 16-18 on 1st September 2015,
in full time education in Flintshire or in full time education and living in
Flintshire.
Students and their families who are interested in the exchange are invited to
an event at the Council Chamber, County Hall at 6.30pm on Monday 2 November to
find out more.
The evening will involve a presentation by students from this year’s exchange
who will give an insight into their experiences and what they gained from it.
Cllr Chris Bithell, Cabinet Member for Education, said:
“This exchange offers a wonderful opportunity for young people from Flintshire
to see a different culture, living with local families and making friends for
life and it provides a similar rich experience for Japanese students to visit
our country.”
