Age Positive Event

Published: 15/10/2015

Almost 40 people enjoyed a trip down memory lane as part of an age positive event at Flintshire County Council’s Record Office. The ‘Beatnik or Hippy’ event took visitors on a journey of nostalgia with music and artefacts reminding them what it was like to live in Flintshire in the 50s and 60s. Photographs and newspapers from the archives and a collection of wonderful clothes, books, games and household objects from the museum all helped to jog memories of a bygone era. The event was organised as part of Age Positive Week and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. Cabinet Member for Education, Cllr Chris Bithell, said: “Age Positive Week is an annual celebration of all that’s positive about ageing and I’m delighted that Flintshire’s Record Office supported it by putting on this great event for local residents.”
