Stepping Back in Time

Published: 16/09/2015

Staff at Flintshire’s Record Office will be taking a step back in time to the swinging 50s and 60s when they host an event to mark Age Positive Week. Staff will recall the beatnik and hippy eras in the ‘Remembering the 50s and 60s’ event at 2pm on Wednesday 30 September. It’s a free event open to anyone who would enjoy the opportunity to reminisce about the good old days. There will be old photographs, newspapers, museum artefacts and music from the two decades to help visitors remember the era and share stories and memories, over some tea and cake. Cabinet Member for Education, Cllr Chris Bithell, said: “Age Positive Week is an annual celebration of all that’s positive about ageing and I’m delighted that Flintshire’s Record Office is getting involved and supporting it. I’d encourage everyone who remembers the 50s and 60s to go along and take a trip down memory lane at this fun event.” For more information about the event please call the Record Office in Hawarden on 01244 532364 or email archives@flintshire.gov.uk Further information about Age Positive week can be found at www.ageuk.org.uk/cymru/get-involved/age-positive-week1
