Fleet Review - Phase 3
Published: 19/09/2014
Members of Flintshire County Council’s cabinet will be asked to approve the
third and final phase of the fleet review at the meeting on Tuesday (16
September).
The final phase of the project will deliver further significant financial
savings for the Council by engaging with an external partner to provide all
Council vehicles, whilst retaining the maintenance activities in the Council’s
own workshop in the Alltami depot.
The arrangement will ensure a consistent approach to vehicle procurement and
maintenance across the County, ensuring the sustainable use of the Councils
vehicle assets and greater strategic management of these resources and their
operations.
Councillor Bernie Attridge Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environment
said:
This new working arrangement is a result of the positive and co-operative
approach taken by the management team and the workforce and allows the Council
to embrace the benefits of partnership working without impacting of service
delivery.
“I would like to recognise the efforts made by this small team of staff within
the workshop and their response to the challenge has allowed the Council to
consider this positive step forward.
