B5101 Ffrith update
Published: 13/10/2017
Flintshire County Council is pleased to announce that the remediation works on
the B5101 between Ffrith and the B5012 have been completed.
The road was re-opened on the evening of 6 October following a landslide which
resulted in damage to the carriageway and material being deposited on the
highway.
The remaining slope was left in an unstable condition which could have caused
further hazard to passing traffic. The Council’s Streetscene team carried out
the remediation work which included the removal of fallen or unstable trees,
regrading of the slope and removal of unstable material and repairs to the
damaged carriageway.
Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Streetscene, Councillor Carolyn
Thomas:
“We appreciate the public’s patience during this period and I would like to
extend my thanks to our Streetscene and Transportation officers for their hard
work to get the road re-opened in a timely and safe manner. Our legal
department will look to recover the full costs of the work.”
