Industrial action: Thursday

Flintshire County Council services will be disrupted on Thursday 10 July due
to a one day national strike by public sector workers. Many council buildings
and offices will be closed with significant disruption to all services
including schools. There will be a limited number of employees during normal
working hours (8.30am to 5pm) at County Hall, Mold to deal with emergencies on
01352 752121.
FLINTSHIRE CONNECTS
Connahs Quay - closed
Flint - closed for council services
Holywell - closed
SOCIAL SERVICES
Service users will be contacted individually if the services they receive from
the council are to be disrupted.
SCHOOLS (including School Transport)
Parents will be notified by head teachers whether or not individual schools
will be open. Parents should also check the Council’s web site
(www.flintshire.gov.uk/schools) for up to date information on school closures.
School bus services for vehicles over 9 seats will run as normal on the day to
those Primary and Secondary schools which will remain open.
However, all Licensed taxi and minibus services under 9 seats will not run,
this includes taxi connections to main collection points along routes, parents
will need to make alternative arrangements where possible.
Due to the uncertainty regarding the provision of school escorts we will not be
able to run transport provision where escorts are normally scheduled.
DOMESTIC REFUSE AND RECYCLING COLLECTION
ALL waste collections due have been suspended for the day.
Those expecting a black bin collection on this day will receive their
collection on Thursday 17 July along with the scheduled brown bin, food and
recycling collection.
Those expecting a brown bin collection on Thursday 10 July will not receive a
collection. The next scheduled collection will be 24 July.
RECYCLING PARKS
Household Waste Recycling Centres will be closed. Normal service will resume
on Friday 11 July.
LEISURE CENTRES
Expected to be open:
Connahs Quay Sports Centre
Connahs Quay Swimming Pool but the Learner pool will be closed for public
swimming
Deeside Leisure Centre
Flint High Sports Centre
Holywell Leisure Centre
Hope Sports Centre
Jade Jones Pavilion
Mold Leisure Centre but the Fitness Suite will close early at 8pm
Holywell Leisure Centre
Hope Sports Centre
Saltney Sports Centre
Closed:
Buckley Leisure Centre
It is recommended that customers check with individual leisure centres by
telephone or on our website (www.flintshire.gov.uk/leisure) before visiting
them.
COUNTRY PARKS
Wepre Park, Connahs Quay - open
Greenfield Valley - open
LIBRARIES
All libraries other than those at Holywell, Buckley and Mynydd Isa will be
closed to the public. The mobile and housebound library services will not be
operating.
CASH OFFICES
All Cash Offices will all be closed.
CLWYD THEATR CYMRU
No theatre or film performances.
HOLYWELL AND CONNAHS QUAY STREET MARKETS
Operating as normal.
