Meadow Management

Find out about our meadow management throughout the year in grassland and wildflower areas.

  • February - March

During the early months of the year, it is important to cut and collect mowings for our sites that have experienced vigorous growth. This gives our wildflowers the best chance to grow and outcompete grasses.

  • April - July

During the warmer months, we leave our grasslands uncut to flower. By doing so, we allow for flowers to bloom fully and reseed themselves.

  • August - October

Once flowers have set seed, it is important to cut and collect mowings. This will remove all the nutrients from the ground and help to create an ideal environment for the wildflowers.

  • November - January

Throughout the winter months, we leave our sites uncut unless there is vigorous growth from grasses that may outcompete with our wildflowers in the Springtime.
