Join the virtual frontline as part of the North Wales Contact Tracing Service

Flintshire County Council, as the lead employer for the new North Wales Contact Tracing Service, is currently recruiting for tracing teams to be aligned to each of the six North Wales councils.

About Test Trace Protect

Contact tracing is a tried and tested method of controlling the spread of infectious diseases.

Welsh Government has introduced Test, Trace, Protect.  Implemented by Public Health Wales in partnership with Health Boards and local Councils across Wales, its aim is to limit the spread of infection, trace the virus and protect our communities.

It works by:

  • testing people who have symptoms, while they, and their households, self-isolate;
  • tracing people who have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, and asking them to self-isolate;
  • protecting the community by reducing the onward spread of COVID-19, especially to the most vulnerable;
  • allowing people (and their households) who test negative and whose symptoms are not due to coronavirus to return to their usual routines.

What is the North Wales Contact Tracing Service?

All North Wales councils are working with Public Health Wales and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to deliver a contact tracing service across North Wales.

Employed by Flintshire County Council, contact tracing teams will be aligned to each of the six North Wales councils.  Whilst teams will generally contact cases local to the area of the Council they are aligned to, they will also provide cover across the whole of the North Wales region as and when required, such as in the event of a surge or outbreak of COVID-19.
